Teen Advisory Council
The Teen Advisory Council at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center acts as an important voice for teenage patients. Members provide guidance and feedback concerning opportunities and issues important to them and their peers.
The council consists of up to 15 young people between the ages of 13 – 19 who receive their care at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center. At any given time, 2 – 3 siblings of frequent patients may also be part of the council. Meetings occur every two months on the first Thursday of the month. Dinner is provided.
Teen Advisory Council members may be asked to share their medical experiences on behalf of the hospital. The first council, to be selected in summer 2015, will determine its mission and priority projects.
Potential members can nominate themselves. Family and Children’s staff nominations are also encouraged. Please note the nomination process includes a brief recommendation letter from an adult.
