Planning for Surgery
Most times, you and your cardiologist will have a chance to plan the timing of a cardiac procedure, and you will have met with the surgical team to discuss the operation, its risks and alternatives. However, in the case of urgent or emergent situations, those discussions may take place in the hospital, even at your child’s bedside.
We consider you to be part of the team.
We believe family involvement throughout the surgical process is critical. Every effort will be made to ensure you are fully informed about your child's condition, the procedure, why it’s necessary, the risks and potential complications. Our team, including our experienced social workers, knowledgeable nurses, and certified child life specialists, is here to help with any needs you and your family may have while planning and waiting for surgery.
