Intro to Health Careers – High School Students
Welcome to Children’s Hospital & Medical Center! Thank you for your interest in learning more about pediatric health careers. We are excited to offer this program to you. The purpose of this program is to introduce high school students to the opportunities available in pediatric health care such as emergency medicine, nursing, child life, pharmacy, pathology, radiology, rehab therapies (physical, occupational & speech) and respiratory therapy.
High School students age 16 or more who are interested in any pediatric health profession may apply to attend. Please see the attached information for more specifics.
This program will simulate a “day in the life” of a health care provider. Students will experience the care provided to a pediatric patient by different roles in the hospital as they work through a simulated case study. Students will witness the importance of communication and team work between caregivers. Opportunities to learn more about different health professions, education requirements, and career paths are included.
